Instinct should tell you who is right for you, but do your research too. You need to work in partnership with your agent(s) so you should feel comfortable with them, be able to develop a mutual trust and they should have excellent industry contacts. Search the CV's of actors they represent and see where they work. There are a variety of agencies some more specialist (i.e. they represent just actors) than others, some more corporate (i.e. they are not owned by the agents but owned by a large company). Our agency is an independent agency, we run and own the company ourselves giving us total freedom over what we do; we offer clients personal management, their relationships are with agents not receptionists or via voice mail.
